Mac returned to Cornelium without her apprentice Andrew and it broke her heart.

But that is not the end of Mac's problems. She returned to find a conclave of angry mages wanting changes in the Mages' Guild. And to her other apprentice who she struggled to keep safe.

When the conclave meeting became a political disaster, and her second apprentice disappeared, Mac had to make a choice. She's been pulled in too many directions for too long.
