Publisher Description
The second book in this fast-paced and hilarious fantasy quest in the grand tradition of Shrek and The Princess Bride, starring four very unlikely, but likeable, heroes.
Prince Liam. Prince Frederick. Prince Duncan. Prince Gustav. You’ve never heard of them, have you? But you’ve probably heard of Prince Charming, the guy who rides in at the last minute to save the girl. Well that’s them, all four of them. They are all Prince Charmings. Only in reality, they are a little less heroic than you might expect.
After saving the kingdom(s) together, you’d think the princes would finally be able to relax. But after this heroism, do they finally have respect? Nooo… the bards have again made them even more of a laughing stock then when they started…
But at least they have each other now – or do they? When Prince Liam is kidnapped and forced to marry the evil Briar Rose, they must unite again to save him. But can they really overcome their differences for long enough to save the day again? With The Bandit King, an evil warlord, and Briar Rose all working against them, they may need a little help from the Princesses this time…
Reviews
‘This is the most fun you can have, short of rounding up King Arthur’s knights, filling their armour with laughing gas and driving them to a roller disco.’
-Frank Cottrell Boyce, bestselling author of Millions, on The Hero’s Guide to Saving Your Kingdom

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
In this uproariously funny sequel to Healy's debut, The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom, the Princes Charming reunite to save the day (in their own bungling way) when the Bandit King, Deeb Rauber, rears his archvillainous 11-year-old head. Briar Rose, determined to marry her betrothed Prince Liam, kidnaps him (Liam is chained to the altar during the ceremony). But securing Liam and his kingdom is only the beginning: Briar has her eye on the Sword of Erinthia, which was stolen by Deeb Rauber. Certain that Briar is up to something, Liam gathers his fellow princes Gustav, Frederic, and Duncan as well as Ella (as in Cinderella) and other allies to retrieve it. As in the first book, Healy's impeccable sense of humor is the driving force behind this story, which in some ways belongs to Frederic, who works to shake off his characteristic timidity. The friendships and romantic relationships between the many players continue to grow in complexity, and readers will be eager to find out where the princes' misadventures take them next. Ages 8 12.
