Publisher Description
The Iliad (sometimes referred to as the Song of Ilion or Song of Ilium) is an ancient Greek epic poem in dactylic hexameter, traditionally attributed to Homer. Set during the Trojan War, the ten-year siege of the city of Troy(Ilium) by a coalition of Greek states, it tells of the battles and events during the weeks of a quarrel between King Agamemnon and the warrior Achilles
Customer Reviews
Straightforward story telling
This is a good rendition of the story of the Iliad in a form that is easy to read. If you want a more poetic version then look elsewhere. I was a bit disappointed not to find the Trojan horse legend within but that just demonstrated my ignorance of the book.
Unsure
I’m left unsure as to whether this was a great book or not. Maybe it is my lack of understanding or grasp of language that leaves me unsure or maybe this book isn’t that great, I don’t know, read it and judge for yourself!
