This internationally acclaimed, award-winning picture book is astonishing, powerful and timely.

My 9 year old daughter has just read this at school, and was disturbed by it, understandably. Yes, it puts forward a powerful message, but there are simpler, kinder ways to do that.
Positive examples are surely preferable? This is a miserable story, which does absolutely nothing to inspire.
I had to give it one star, because zero wasn’t an option.
