Edward Sylvester Ellis was an American author, a teacher, school administrator, journalist, and the author of hundreds of books and magazine articles. He was the author of different westerns, science fiction novels, books on history. It was originally sold from forty to sixty thousand copies, and all were sold 450 thousand copies of his works. 

He wrote under dozens of pseudonyms, as well as under his own name, it was virtually impossible to know exactly how many books he wrote, but it was believed to be in the hundreds.
