The Last Party

Attractive women keep doing risqué things in Redd's world, but none of them are trying to seduce him this time. One of them is missing. Another is having an affair with her sister's husband. The husband's wife is a Chilean aristocrat whose reckless young daughter from a previous marriage has been found murdered at their estate in Virginia horse country.

All evidence points to the stepbrother of the victim, but he swears he didn't do it and fails to reveal family scandals that might set him free. Redd's FBI connection, Wendell Berry, is being pressured by higher-ups to sort it out. Redd reluctantly takes on two cases that introduce him to the polyamorous world of sex parties.

The missing woman is a free spirit whose husband seems to tolerate her promiscuous adventures, but he operates a game processing facility that could conveniently dispose of her body. The case becomes entangled when Redd learns that she has recently attended a private sex party held in the home of a wealthy tech entrepreneur neighboring the country estate where the murder of the young woman took place.
