‘WOW, WHAT AN AMAZING BOOK!!!!… From the very start to the last page you're hooked!’ Goodreads Reviewer, 5 stars
‘Let me out! Please …’ My tiny fists pound the door, but my voice reverberates off the stone walls and hangs in the air as if suspended by spider’s webs. No one comes...
Years later, a woman is found face-down in a pool of blood. Detective Lottie Parker is called to the remote farmhouse in the bleak Irish countryside. Inside, she finds a scene that speaks of uncontrollable rage: glasses smashed, chairs ripped apart, the woman’s body broken.
A black rain jacket makes Lottie think she knows the killer’s identity, but then she finds a disturbing clue: is the murder linked to an old case at St Declan’s asylum? A case investigated by her own father, just before he took his life.
When another body is left without its tongue on the hospital steps, and a young girl goes missing, Lottie knows she has to act fast. Can she face her own demons and uncover the truth before another life is taken?
An absolutely gripping page-turner from the bestselling author of The Missing Ones and The Stolen Girls. If you love Rachel Abbott, Angela Marsons or Robert Dugoni, you’ll be completely hooked.

The Lost Child
I gave 4* because it’s a well written, decent enough story.
I found it all rather depressing though; even the weather was depressing. As this book is apparently one of a series, I thought there was an implausible number of deaths for a rural community and too many interrelated characters. The main character, Lottie, the detective, loved her family but was a deeply unpleasant, pill popping alcoholic. I won’t be reading any more of these books.
The Lost Child
Very good read, I bought all three of the books in this series and read them one after the other. I am disabled and need to spend a lot of time just sitting, so my days can be very long especially in winter, so a good book can take me to lots of places.
I really love a good mind catching crime/thriller book and enjoyed every page of these books. Thank you Patricia. Looking forward to number 4 .
An amazing series so far
Can’t wait for next book
