When recent business degree-wielding Carter Montgomery takes a job managing the crumbling Loosestrife Inn in the rural town of Castenfield, he expects a line on his résumé and a quiet season. Instead, the inn breathes. The gardens watch. And the walls carry on conversations after midnight.

His employer-brilliant, unnerving professor Walker Megara-insists the land is "alive," a place where history loops and grief won't release its grip. It is the usual routine for a while: tours, restorations, and garden planting. Then the scratching starts. Doors try to open. A mysterious masked figure appears in the gardens and on the property. It beckons Carter, but to and for what?

As the season turns and a burial in the gardens awakens something restless, Carter is pulled toward a meadow that refuses the rules of time. It is a dream, yet reality, and makes Carter question everything he believes in, even his sanity. To survive Loosestrife, he must decipher the inn's folklore, untangle Walker's riddles, and face what the land wants from him-before its hunger makes a home of his heart.
