The Memory Thief

Robert, a retired teacher and stubborn, oft-times hotheaded Vietnam vet of routine, and Lottie, a vivaciously independent former nurse, and devoted wife and mother, have been married for nearly five decades. They’ve handled what life has thrown at them, and have ridden the roller coaster of ups and downs that almost fifty years of marriage brings. Family squabbles bringing up three kids, and now grandchildren, health problems, some more serious than others; this pair have dealt with the bruises of an aging, typical American family.

Then, life throws them a curve ball that threatens everything they have ever known, as Lottie’s diagnosed Alzheimer’s quickly progresses, and the decision is made to institute her into a long-term care facility. Robert finds his life torn asunder, as Lottie, her memory waning, soon begins to find a new life…and a new relationship…in the nursing home, while her husband is left to pick up the pieces of his once normal, now shattering life.
