I grinned as he unlocked the door. The back door led to the hallways where a lot of the Sunday school classrooms were located. I had no idea what his plans were, so I just followed him as he took me down the hall. He led me into the main sanctuary, dark and rather spooky with the lights off.

"I can't remember the last time I was here at night," I said. "And I don't know if I've ever been here when it was all dark like this."

"Kind of creepy, huh?"

It was. The room was large, with a highly arched ceiling and a big looming cross statue behind the pulpit. There were lots of shadows and corners. He took my hand.

"Come on."

He brought me to one of the pews in the front row. Before I could say anything, he sat down on it and pulled me into his lap. He put his hand on the back of my head, squashing our faces together rather forcefully. The sudden strong movements sent heat rushing through me.

"Right here?" I asked between kisses. "You want to do it right here?"

"Yup. Right in the heart of the holy grounds."

I giggled. "Well, I'm glad the pews are cushioned."

I shifted my position, straddling his lap, my knees on either side of him.

"Have you done this before?" I asked. "In the church, I mean."

"Nope. You'll be my first."

It seemed fitting, somehow, that our first time together would be in the place we met, the place where we grew up together, the place where we were both warned of the dangers of the very thing we were about to do. It felt decidedly sinful, feeding the desire to rebel we had both had growing up, remnants of which still remained even into our early adulthood. More than that, though, it seemed to bring things full circle. Here we had first met, and I'd first had my crush.
