England in the 18th Century

I read this book as a way to gain some understanding of my ancestors lives. Porter's book is wonderfully easy to read. His description of life for all levels of society is really good, giving details and comparison in his examples of the various strata of society. Whether you are a historian or just interested in the subject this is a source that will be useful.
