Not a literary masterpiece, but certainly a good read. Interesting story if a little predictable at times; this book really scores by keeping the reader engaged with a fast pace. It is one that is difficult to put down, and caused some late nights. All in all a great read, and an interesting fiction based around significant wartime events.
Good that the main character has two "love interests" however despite this, the reader is not subjected to the usually ever-present, ever-tedious and predictable "fall into bed / earth moving Etc etc" chapter.....its just not there and all the better for it.
