Publisher Description

The delicious smell of freshly baked bread is always an irresistible temptation - especially when it comes from your own kitchen. With more than 22,500 printed copies sold, this book is packed full of appetizing breads from around the world. From classic breads, such as Italian ciabatta, French baguettes, Scottish oatcakes, and San Franciscan sourdough, to the more exotic Portuguese corn bread, Welsh clay-pot loaves, and Syrian onion bread, each recipe is tried and tested to ensure success. Clear instructions and helpful photographs will take you through every stage of the bread-making process, and, so you can see what you're aiming for, there's a mouthwatering picture of every finished bread. As well as more than 70 recipes, the book gives the background to the breads and their ingredients, outlining the basic techniques of mixing, kneading, and baking, and describing the equipment you may need, from traditional loaf tins to automatic bread-making machines. Whether you're an experienced bread-maker, or trying your hand at baking for the first time, this volume will prove both an invaluable reference and a wonderful source of inspiration.

A must read for anyone interested in bread making

Well documented and illustrated, a fantastic read!

P.s. the book mentions fresh yeast in all it's recipes. If u don't have it (very likely), use the following conversion: 15g fresh = 7g instant or dried yeast.

Great Author, Excellent Information, Super Recipes

I am the publisher, so you should be aware of it - I am very biased because I love this book! It was a pleasure to make the book, the author is full of passion and bread wisdom, the photographs are lovely (I think!) and the recipes work really well (they are tried and tested for best results every time). Get the sample and have a look - there are hundreds and hundreds of specially taken colour photographs, and 70 brilliant recipe ideas for breads from all over the world. If it looks good to you, and looks like great value, then I do hope you will buy, enjoy and get a huge amount of satisfaction from the book. Thanks for listening ! Warm wishes from Paul.
