A Page Turner

It’s not often you get to read a political thriller where one of the co-authors was actually the President of the United States and has insights us mere mortals will never see. So that was a bonus from the start.
I found the story wasn’t the easiest to get into, the first chapter or two seemed a little difficult for me but once passed it, the story flowed and I became enthralled, curious to know what happens next. It was also insightful, not to the levels I was hoping but in many other ways. American politics is in trouble and the American system as a result and the authors highlight this throughout the story and more vehemently at the end. It is somewhat paradoxical that the most powerful country in the world could also be the most ‘broken’ one.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would have given it a full 5 stars if it had drawn out the suspense just a bit longer.
