"The Princess and the Goblin" is a children's fantasy novel. Eight-year-old Princess Irene lives a lonely life in a castle in a desolate kingdom. Her father is normally absent, and her mother is dead. Unknown to her, a race of goblins liven in mines nearby, long banished from the kingdom. One day, the princess explores the castle and discovers a mysterious lady, and thus her adventure begins.
