Forced to flee Paris and believing it not safe to return home, Princess Denisova flees to London, accompanied by her lifelong friend and what jewels they could sew into their cloaks/dresses and conceal on their persons. Whilst her companion becomes a seamstress, Anastasia/Anya now known as Anna Brown, becomes a companion to an elderly lady but lives in fear that her nemesis will come after her. When her fears come to pass, she is rescued by Sebastian Wolff and taken into hiding.
Highly enjoyable story - loved the snippets of Russian superstition and custom.
