The Quarantine Rabbit

With an admiring nod to Margery Williams’s The Velveteen Rabbit, this uplifting short story tells the tale of eight-year-old Peter Billings, whose mother, a first responder at a local hospital, has been hospitalized with a severe case of COVID-19. Peter and his father’s relationship is tested during their mandatory quarantine, but from that experience comes not only a tighter bond but also more than a little magic that benefits Peter’s family and the whole town. We should all be fortunate enough to have Peter as a neighbor.
