Publisher Description
Poet tells of a talking raven's mysterious visit to a distraught lover, tracing the man's slow fall into madness. The lover, often identified as being a student, is lamenting the loss of his love, Lenore. Sitting on a bust of Pallas, the raven seems to further instigate his distress with its constant repetition of the word "Nevermore". The poem makes use of a number of folk and classical references.

A scary gothic classic tale, truly terrifying
Honestly, this may be the scariest poem of all time. It is scary even now, with movies like the ring and the exorcist, and games like outlast and resident evil. But back in the early 1800s, back when a storm could give a fully grown man a heart attack. This is a classic, a must-have, and it’s free!
Gothic poetry masterclass
Classic is clearly an understatement when it comes to the one and only Edgar Allen Poe, whose dark and somewhat twisted style comes through in this hauntingly beautiful tale of demise and unrequited love.
