I never thought I’d see her again.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Who knew hockey could be so damn sexy? Romance superstar Kendall Ryan kicks off her steamy Looking to Score series by introducing us to Eden Wynn, the new owner of a beloved Boston hockey franchise. Eden’s whip smart, but the team—including its new star player, Alex Braun, Eden’s handsome (and incredibly ripped) ex-boyfriend—doesn’t have much faith in her. And don’t even get us started on the fans, whose misogynistic online abuse gets so bad that the team has to hire a new security team to protect her. That security squad is headed by the tall, brooding Holt Rossi, whom Eden spent a memorable night with back in college. Yeah, you know what’s coming, but boy, does Ryan deliver on both the romance and drama fronts. The Rebel is a reminder that sometimes your dream guy may be hiding in plain sight.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Ryan (Playing for Keeps) launches her Looking to Score series with a steamy story full of delicious detail that's light on angst. Eden Wynn is a wealthy girl from the right side of town, and though Holt Rossi has harbored a crush on her for years, he's never felt worthy of her. When their one college hookup ends with Eden leaving him a note that reads, "This was a mistake," Holt's worst fears are confirmed. Years later, Eden inherits her grandfather's hockey team and must publicly cope with the fact that her ex, Alex Braun, is one of her players. Just when things couldn't get more stressful, her team hires Holt as her new security detail. The last thing Eden needs is a relationship tied to her work, but Holt still has feelings for the girl that got away, and soon enough Eden realizes that she made a mistake all those years ago. Ryan keeps the focus on the feelings rather than action, and the result is a soothing escape that more than makes up for its lack of twists and turns with endearing characters, sizzling sex scenes, and an emotion-driven plot. This is the literary equivalent of comfort food. (Self-published)

Need to read more
This story was a great read but having read the hot jocks series, I found this one a little harder to get into because I couldn’t help comparing. I hope I will come to love this series just as much once I have read more of it.
What a great read!
I really enjoyed this book. Eden has her eyes set on Alex at a party but she see’s him heading off with another girl, looking for Alex she bumps into Holt. Holt and Eden get talking and things soon turn steamy but Holt, being respectful puts a stop to things before they go too far. When he wakens in the morning Eden has left a note and disappeared leaving Holt gutted. As time passes Holt realises that Eden has got together with Alex, he believes she is far too good for him but he let’s her go. Years later, Holt can’t believe it when fate brings him and Eden back together again when she employs him as security. She has recently finished her relationship with Alex and can’t deny the underlying feelings she has for Holt. The chemistry between Holt and Eden is amazing but he is trying to be respectful and careful with his feelings as she left him heartbroken years ago. They both give in to their feelings but try to keep their relationship under wraps as Eden believes she has a lot at risk if it comes out, and when it does come out Eden doesn’t know what to do! I really enjoyed this book, I loved Holts character and so glad that he got the happily ever after!

Oh Yay, Oh Yay! I Loved It
From the very first chapter, I just knew that I was going to love Holt Rossi and Eden Wynn. Always a fan of Kendall Ryan’s writing, and most definitely a fan of hockey themed stories, so it was pretty much a win win for me, it’s also got a great second chance romance vibe. Holt comes from the rough side of the tracks, Eden though, has had a more privileged life. That doesn’t mean she’s had an easy life, not by a long shot, and things aren’t getting any better. She might not want for money, but she could definitely use a friend, and when Holt walks back into her life, things all of a sudden seem to become a little better. That’s just added a friends to lovers twist to the story, and oh, the chemistry, so much chemistry between these two. Just to add another genre, there’s a little bit of a forbidden romance vibe too. I just loved this story, the characters, the camaraderie, it was just perfect. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
