John Steinbeck’s 4th Book Is A Good Read In His Normal Style
‘The Red Pony’ by John Steinbeck is John Steinbeck’s third book. Written in 1933, ‘The Red Pony’ follows a little boy Jody in America near Salinas in the old days. The book follows Jody who lives with his family including the ranch hand (Billy). The story starts when Jody is brought a red pony by his dad and Billy, unfortunately tragedy strikes and the Jody’s life changes after that time.
I am reading through the John Steinbeck books, this is my sixth John Steinbeck book and although this isn’t my favourite as I love ‘Of Mice And Men’, I did quite enjoy this book. I felt at first I may not enjoy it but as I got into it, it was a good read and it was quite a short read. It’s written in John Steinbeck’s normal style and is very descriptive. A good read.
