In the bustling city of Liverpool, DCI Thurstan Baddeley opens a new chapter of his career when he joins the Major Investigations Team. Expecting the usual grim parade of odd murders, he quickly discovers that the city is hiding far darker secrets beneath its surface.
When an enigmatic assassin arrives—seemingly unwilling to complete his deadly task and move on—Baddeley finds himself ensnared in a high-stakes game that stretches beyond organised crime. As a series of tangled clues tentatively unravel, he realizes he's up against a force which holds the potential to shake the very foundations of his understanding of justice itself.
Baddeley must navigate unforeseen alliances and shadowy motives. As he delves deeper, he discovers challenges to not only his understanding of morality but also the price of truth. The clock is ticking, and the road leads him towards a reality he might not be ready to face.
Join DCI Baddeley, and the assassin he pursues, on a journey through layers of deception and the struggle for redemption, where trust is fragile and the path to justice is anything but clear. Will he resolve the mystery before the city falls into chaos, or will he uncover a conspiracy that shatters the simplicity of the life he once knew?
*The Road to Eden is Overgrown* is an emotional rollercoaster that explores sacrifice, the complexity of human motives, and the relentless pursuit of doing what is right amidst overwhelming darkness.

Laughing all the way!
I really enjoyed the author’s good old sense of humour and the banter that runs throughout.
I thought the story was very detailed and well written with some likeable characters, but there were so many different things going on and so many names to remember that I struggled to keep up!
