Good Read
It never occurred to me that many leading business coaches came from the sporting world. We can learn a lot about coaching from these people, and the author explains why so many of the top business coaches and motivators crossed-over from the sporting world. I think it is good that studies are cited to support the author’s assertions. It is a good read with a feeling of having learned a few things when all is done.
Clearly Written
This book is written very clearly, and moves through the material in an easy to understand fashion. It also goes into sufficient detail about each topic to enable its implementation with ease.
Well researched and written into digestable, evidence-based insights on the essentials of coaching
I liked the way the author was able to reduce the wide-referencing research findings into essential insights, which makes for a quick grasping of the subject matter. I enjoyed the commentary on goal orientation and on being an inspiring leader. The sensicle explanation regarding the differences between coaching and mentoring was particularly interesting and resonated well. The author takes the reader through eight steps to achieving an organisational coaching culture that can be incorporated into any business model. Well researched, well written and well appreciated.
