A novella, previously published in the print anthology It Happened One Season.
Sebastian Trantor is in need of a wife. But although he's scouted the ballrooms, drawing rooms, and salons of London, he's yet to find a single worthwhile candidate in the young ladies paraded before him. They simper; they giggle; they are completely unsuitable.
Then, he discovers Tabitha Makepeace—breaking into a desk! He quickly realizes that this clever and resourceful young lady is the bride for him—but how is he to convince her of that?

What the flip
Okay so I buy this book thinking like 'this looks good the girls going to be all 'nah' then the guys going to be all 'I got you' and then the girl would be all 'yah you got me now' and that it would be a little saucy but also a fun book to read, maybe even a little humorous.... So humour me(see what I did there... ANYWAY) IT GOT SO BAD SO FAST! I feel like one minute I'm just reading this story and then next IM SMACKED IN THE FACE WITH INEXPLICABLY BAD WRITING AND NARRATIVE! I feel like I got jumped by this book! And for someone like me who tries to finish even bad books I CANNOT FINISH THIS! Like it just came out of no where and it all happened so fast I don't even know what happened it's just SOOOO AWEFUL!! I wouldn't even read it if it was free! I CANNOT BELIEVE THE PUBLISHERS RELEASED THIS BOOK I MEAN WHAT DID THEY READ IT BLIND FOLDED?! I cannot comprehend what the heck happened and HOWWW this book was released?!!
And to make matters worse.... I PAYED £1.99 FOR THIS BOOK!? DO YOU KNOW WHAT I COULDVE BOUGHT WITH THAT £1.99?!! A FRIGGIN MACCIES!!! I COULDVE GOT FRIES OR A MCFLURRY! I could've bought TWO MCFLURRIES AND STILL HAVE A PENNY LEFT OVER!!!! And I KNOW the mcflurry wouldn't have upset me as much as this book! Nah apple please remove this book I want a refund I want to get me a mcflurry and stress eat over how bad this book is I mean I love to read but this book is just a big fat no it just is SO. BAD.
STOP YOURSELVES WHILE YOU CAN PEOPLE DONT BUY THIS BOOK!
