Engaging characters
Mattie and Edward are both strong engaging characters and this is an enjoyable read and far superior to many regency novels though not this author’s best work. I liked the kittens and the problem of having to be grateful for a roof over your head when the roof is still far from ideal. Mattie is not self pitying and this makes her very likeable. The end came too quickly.
