The Stalker
I am a 46 year old male. As a child at school I hated reading. Hated reading out loud to the rest of the class & hated reading quietly to myself. The thicker the book, the more I would dread it. Maybe it had something to do with the fact I had dodgy eyes & wore national health spectacles that made me look like the Milky Bar kid? Whatever it was, I hated reading & always have.
Then I got an iPhone. Searching through all the amazing applications & avenues this brilliant bit of modern technology provides, I got to looking at books. Me! Looking at books? I've even surprised myself. Nevertheless, I came across the cheaper short story books & at .99p thought, what the hell, why not give one a try. I looked through the titles to find something that I hoped would keep me interested, even for a short while. "The Stalker", that could be interesting? So I bought it & started reading. As I flicked my finger across my iPhone to turn the last virtual page of my new book, It dawned on me that albeit a very short story, I had read it from virtual cover to virtual cover, non stop AND more incredibly, ENJOYED reading it!
This was a great story that kept me interested all the way through. One that has caused me to reflect, that maybe, just maybe, I might enjoy a few more like this?
