THE STOLEN EGG

The Stolen Egg is a 38-page multimedia chapter book.  The fictional tale is partly based on a true story about a gaggle of Maine geese.  Emmett, a young goose, is blamed for something he did not do and kicked out of his gaggle.  Alone and afraid, he wanders into a yard where he meets the Beautiful Lady, who lovingly cares for him with the help of her big yellow dog, the four cats that come and go as they please, and the toilet trained rabbit. Still, Emmett misses his Grampy and the rest of the geese. Will he ever see them again? The Stolen Egg is a high interest story that holds the attention of young readers right to its happy ending. Intended for ages 5-8, The Stolen Egg integrates hand drawn illustrations with photographs of the real geese and two short videos to tell the story.
