Another masterpiece
The Wickedness of a Highlander is a superb read. I had eagerly waited for this, the fourth book in the Midnight in Scotland series. I wondered, knowing the background where the MacPherson brothers had come up against Sabella Lockhart’s brother, with Broderick’s imprisoned and tortured. So how was Sabella and Alexander MacPherson’s story to be written?
Well the answer is brilliantly. Sabella was so different from her wicked brother, strong and so good natured, willing to think of the best in others, in spite of his cruelty and the theft of all her belongings. Alexander is a bit of tortured soul, who lived for his family and struggled to see harm come to his brother. No wonder then that he took the opportunity when Sabella was desperate and needed work. Totally lacking in the domestic skills required for cooking and cleaning, Sabella accepted the job and gradually improved at her work, while also gradually working her way into Alexander’s heart. Mix a bit of Highlander magic with Elisa’s talent and we have another wonderful book.

Been looking forward to the next instalment of the Midnight in Scotland series and catching up with favourites like the hilarious Mrs MacBean.
Elisa Braden is one of my favourite authors in this genre and she never disappoints.
Loved Sabella and Alexander’s story. From hate to love and plenty of spice and comic relief. Can’t wait to read Rannoch and Magdalene’s story next. It’s going to be a good one!
This book can be read as a standalone but is a part of a great series.
