Customer Reviews
Changes my mind…
I previously posted a negative review of this book when I couldn’t finish it but I decided to give it another shot and see what I thought and I was happy I did. The happy ending was worth the wait and I liked the storyline between the hero and heroine but there are still aspects of the book that aren’t great hence only 3 stars.
1. The book flits between different tenses with no guide as to where in the timeline it has ended up.
2. The sister is a complete cow and the fact that the heroine puts up with her portrays her as weak which to me isn’t a characteristic I identify with so I had a hard time continuing to read when I just wanted to slap the character and tell them to stop being so pathetic.
3. Finally, the story doesn’t flow well in parts and I found it difficult to follow which I think is because of the random changes in the timeline but for example where they have their first kiss, it never states they kiss but yet it talks about a kiss? It makes no sense. I feel like the author was trying to build some suspense by bringing in the outcome of key scenes later in the book but it just didn’t work.
