Whatever happened to beloved Girls series characters Ellie, Magda and Nadine?
They're all grown up now - but if they think they know what's coming, they'd better think again...
Adulthood isn’t quite what Ellie Allard dreamed it would be when she was fourteen years old. Though she’s got her beautiful daughter Lottie, her trusty cat Stella and life-long best friends in Magda and Nadine, her love life is non-existent and she feels like she’s been living on auto-pilot, just grateful to be able to afford the rent on her poky little flat.
But this year on her birthday, it seems it’s time for all that to change – whether Ellie wants it to or not. As she navigates new, exciting and often choppy waters, she’s about to discover that life will never stop surprising you – if only you let it.
Bringing the same warmth and humour to an adult novel as she does to her work for younger readers, Jacqueline Wilson finally answers the questions fans have been asking for years in this uplifting, life-affirming story about friendship, family, and finding fulfilment in unexpected places.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
National treasure Jacqueline Wilson reintroduces us to her cast of her Girls series in this wonderful shot of nostalgia. And what has become of Ellie, Magda and Nadine? Well, the 14-year-olds we first met are now about to hit 40, and, well, life hasn’t quite worked out as planned—especially for Ellie, the book’s central character. Wilson proves herself as brilliantly able to tap into the emotional ups and downs of adult life as she does children and teens, and Think Again quickly becomes a gorgeously relatable, devilishly funny and beautifully warm novel that will be passed between generations.

A trip down memory lane
Nostalgia kept me reading this one.
#1 Fan
The book I never knew I needed. LOVED the girls series as a child and ALWAYS wanted a new version, then low and behold over 15 years later and an adult version comes along. I never knew how much I needed this, and to have a conclusion and wonder about the characters and how they grew. So good! Thankyou Jacqueline Wilson! (And yes, I still read her books as an adult!)
Jacqueline Wilson, you’ve done it again!
What a nostalgic read, I am so happy that Jacqueline Wilson wrote this book! Having read the Girls series at 13 (the same age as Ellie, Magda, and Nadine), it was so intriguing to read about them now as adults, and understanding the little references from earlier on in the series. Reading this felt so real and relatable at times, as if you knew the characters personally. Definitely recommend, as both a great book and a lovely trip down memory lane.
