Throne of the Forsaken: The Shattering is a piece of short fiction that details the events that brought humanity to its knees, and in their darkest hour, their greatest achievement. The Radiance colony vessel, meant to house the entire population of Earth, isn't just any ship, though. It is a massive vehicle, the size of multiple moons, which utilizes an engine that smashes particles together in order to pierce through the limits of time itself.

But, in doing so, they could very well rip apart the fabric of space and time.

That is, at least, the margin for error, and possible consequence of humanity's inaction, that led to this specific reaction.
