FROM THE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR
Thrown Away Child is a memoir covering Louise Allen’s abusive childhood in a foster home, how she survived - using her love of art as a sanctuary - and how she hopes to right old wrongs now by fostering children herself and campaigning for the improvement of foster care services. It is a compelling and inspirational story. This book gives a voice to the many children who grew up unhappily in care.

THROWN AWAY CHILD - Louise Allen
It left me feeling angry, amazed, appalled & sickened. Beyond description . . . Why did other people not TRY TO help more? As to the lack of her own ability to tell other VERY SIGNIFICANT PEOPLE about what had been going on? Then trying to justify her lack by just moving on to other hurts & such inadequate people all around? No. Her life could have been so much better & different IF she had spoken out earlier, naturally tried to escape, beg professionals for help. There's almost a sense of her relishing & being able to tell others about being a Survivor is her right & SO ON.. . . I would not recommend this book, especially for other childhood abuse & neglect Survivors ( myself) & as it's simply TOO MUCH INFO crammed into tales of such (aforementioned) torture & madness, which does not lead to any satisfactory form of closure:conclusion. . . . So many people are abuse Survivors & often from within their own 'Families' & beyond measure or description- the knock on effects are endured through out our lives- but we are not all needing to tell the general public about it all, with GOOD reason. I genuinely regret reading this through & advise others to protect themselves from the same. No thank you.
