Thumbelina

Thumbelina is a tiny girl, who is no bigger than a thumb. Where did she come from? A woman who wanted to have a child was once given a seed by a forest fairy.  A lovely flower grew from the seed, with a little girl inside.  The woman called her Thumbelina. Thumbelina was very tiny, so she had a walnut shell as her bed and a tulip leaf was her playground.  One night, a toad hopped into the house.  Since the toad liked the girl, it took her along with her walnut cradle and fled back to the garden.
