A gripping new series from million-copy bestseller Mel Sherratt.

TICK…

In the city of Stoke, a teenage girl is murdered in the middle of the day, her lifeless body abandoned in a field behind her school.

TOCK…

Two days later, a young mother is abducted. She’s discovered strangled and dumped in a local park.

TIME’S UP…

DS Grace Allendale and her team are brought in to investigate, but with a bold killer, no leads and nothing to connect the victims, the case seems hopeless. It’s only when a third woman is targeted that a sinister pattern emerges. A dangerous mind is behind these attacks, and Grace realises that the clock is ticking…

Can they catch the killer before another young woman dies?

The number one bestselling author returns with a breath-taking police procedural thriller series that will have you on the edge of your seat.

Great book

Storyline kept me hooked and loved the characters although not sure whether I like Grace. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Nothing New

Once again there is far too much insignificant information. No police officer would allow personal issues to interfere with their job as often as this.

Has to be 5* but...

I thoroughly enjoyed almost all of this book.

The school based setting and many of the characters seemed so familiar that it could have been my town and neighbours, or anywhere else.

The prose was well written and easy to read.

The plot was good if you don’t stop to analyse the likelihood of it happening. I didn’t while I was reading the book. I won’t say more in case I spoil the storyline for someone else. We follow the police as they try to solve the crime but there were enough suspects for us to be able to try and guess the culprit, which I think adds to the enjoyment and readability.

On the negative side, I think this book must be one of an ongoing series. There were a few parts which I had no interest in or understanding of linked to Grace’s family and events which must have happened in an earlier book.

Also, the ending seemed unnecessarily drawn out with ‘mopping up’ of details of the storyline - the hows and the whys.

Near the end I was horribly aware of a few police novel clichés. ‘What kept you?’, ‘Get (him/her) out of my sight.’, ‘I was only doing my job.’

All in all, I’m very glad I bought this book and recommend it.
