Tom Evans

Tom Evans is a regular kid who has a big dream – he wants to be a sailing legend!  Tom comes from a family of non-sailors, but after he gives the sport a try he’s hooked by the sense of freedom that comes with being out on the water. 

 

The first book in the series outlines Tom’s introduction to sailing and how he gets a start in the sport.  Tom develops a special friendship with an old guy at the sailing club who becomes a friend and mentor, helping Tom through the inevitable challenges that come along in life and in his sport.  Tom’s dream is ultimately to go to the Olympics, but to get noticed by the best coaches, he needs to compete at the National Championships.  Without a boat, or parents who are prepared to take him to sailing regattas, how will Tom ever compete against the best?
