It's an interesting read for someone who is researching different dog training methods, but it's no longer an effective teaching aid. Example: it advises you in lesson 1 to spend the week manually pushing and pulling your dog into the sit and down positions - a week entirely wasted as the dog learns nothing except that you push him into a sit and he gets praised. Only on week two are you advised to lure the dog into a sit with a toy or treat (now accepted as the best method as it gets the dog to think through what he needs to do to get the treat). It also advises the use of 'checks' (a sharp tug on the leash) to 'correct' your dog , something that is now widely regarded as entirely unnecessary if training is done properly.
