Publisher Description

This book is intended for everyone involved in designing, coding and curating web content.

It's partly a simple guide to usability best practice and partly an archive of content that was publicly available until late 2011 when the commissioner, the Central Office of Information (COI), was dissolved.

Much has changed in the world of web since this content was originally developed in 2008, but it still serves as a great foundation for learning the fundamentals of applied usability. It will be particularly useful for websites with a responsibility to ensure access by audiences unfamiliar (or uncomfortable) with 'cutting edge' interaction design.

We hope you find it useful.
