Walking to Hell

The book is a fictional novel about a young man as he matures and becomes a Confederate soldier serving in an infantry regiment that is part of the Confederate army during the American Civil War. The story brings together humor, drama, and history.
In this first book of a series, Ezekial McNair has reached the century mark and realizes he is the last Confederate soldier of a proud regiment that did his duty for a country that has ceased to exist. He recites his story to his great, great granddaughter and great, great, grandniece. He tells of the indiscretions of his youth in the mid-1800s, the discipline instilled in army training, the hard life of a soldier, and the horror of a war where half a million Americans died in four years.
