Waterspell Book 1: The Warlock
Making a place for yourself in a world where you don't belong takes courage. So does moving in with a warlock.
Drawn into the schemes of an angry wizard, Carin glimpses the place she once called home. It lies upon a shore that seems unreachable. To learn where she belongs and how to get there, the lost traveler must decipher the words of an alien book, follow the clues in a bewitched poem, conjure a dragon from a pool of magic—and tread carefully around a tortured, emotionally scarred sorcerer who can't seem to decide whether to love her or kill her. This is Book 1 of a series. The story continues in Books 2–4: The Wysard, The Wisewoman, and The Witch. The family saga carries on into the next generation with The Karenina Chronicles (Book 5).

Absolute Magic!
What is that indefinable ingredient that makes a book great?
I read prolifically, always seeking that piece of magic so often missing in countless thousands of books. I’m not rich and I read so much that the only way to keep my addiction fed is to use free sites, where I get countless books and always have at least a couple of books ‘in the bank’. For decades - I kid you not - I have been looking for an author who can hold a candle to my all-time absolute favourite author, Robin Hobb. To be able to weave such fantastic stories with characters fully fleshed and multi-dimensional, characters that you can love, hate, and all those shades between, the type of story that immersed you in a universe of the author’s making. I love this book, have just purchased the second book in the series; Wysard and have to go now so that I can read it!
I am thrilled to find you!
A fascinating fantasy
A flowing, well-written tale that quickly captures the imagination. This story maintains its internal world-building with a believable narrative and an empathetic heroine. It’s the best book I’ve read for a while. Enjoy!
