This is the final book in the series about two people, Mac Smith and Carice Offstrop, who have set up an inquiry agency together in Auckland, New Zealand. While solving their unusual cases, Mac has been reunited with an old friend from military intelligence who continually lures him back into the world of espionage, intrigue, and betrayal, where his life is often at risk.
