Twenty-eight-year-old hotelier Avery Spark is on her way to a business meeting when she crashes her car and breaks multiple bones. Declan McCormick, her roommate and best friend since college, offers to provide round-the-clock care during her recovery out of guilt for not driving her to the meeting as he'd promised. Avery is frustrated with her lack of mobility, but, with the encouragement of her sisters, finds an outlet in documenting her recovery on social media. And after Declan walks in on Avery masturbating, the pair decide he should help her relieve her sexual tension while her mobility is limited, leading both to admit to long-hidden mutual attraction. Great Fun Read💥
This is a lovely, sweet, friends to lovers, forced proximity-ish romance.
Declan and Avery have been best friends and roommates for a long time. Their friendship is effortless and their connection is obvious but they have never crossed the line......until they do and then things get complicated!!
This is quite a lengthy and absorbing story with more than just Declan and Avery’s relationship going on. We get to meet all the other people in their lives and learn a lot about them. I’m sure we will be meeting the Spark sisters again.
I appreciate Ms Huntings writing in that their is no unnecessary angst, any problems are realistic and understandable. Yes you want to shake Declan for his choices and ways of dealing but also Avery needed a wake up on a couple of occasions and who better to deliver it than your blunt, no nonsense sisters....
I enjoyed my stay at Spark House and look forward to London and Harley’s stories.
An enjoyable light read
Best friends Avery and Declan find themselves becoming much closer after a serious accident makes Declan her main caregiver whilst she recovers. Taking a chance on being more than friends, is though a risk, as Declan’s formative years have affected how he sees relationships.
Note: I was interested in the fact that Avery had waterproof casts as I had never heard of them. I therefore looked up the details on the Internet only to find that Avery would not have been a suitable candidate due to her surgery! Heigh-ho.
