Famous country singer, Nyx Wilde, returns to her hometown in Candlewood Falls, in time for the holidays because her recent hearing problems have forced her to cancel her tour and leave the music scene behind. She battles her new existence, wanting desperately to go back to her calling—the way it was before.

Single dad, Ford McKay, and the Candlewood Falls High School principal, swore he'd never allow Nyx Wilde back in his world after she left him and broke his heart. He doesn't regret his decision for a practical, safe career and predictable reality, until he encounters Nyx again. Now all the things he believed to be true about himself might be lies he created to keep remorse from knocking at his door.
