Whitey Miller retired from the army to become sheriff of Martinsville, Idaho. Like there was quiet and easy, people cared about one another, and everyone knew everyone else.
Then Whitey noticed a strange attraction between the mayor and one of the younger teen boys. He suspected the worse, recalled a case from his days as an MP investigator in the army.
Whitey contacts his old partner from the MP days. She's on leave from the Baltimore police after shooting a suspect, and together they prepare to look into the case of the mayor and the boy. Until the killings begin.
