Publisher Description
After months spent in the service of the Chaos god Slaanesh, the ruling classes of the Contqual sub-sector have finally brought true damnation upon their people – innumerable hordes of foul and lascivious daemons swarm from a tear in the fabric of reality to embrace their mortal pawns and drive them on to ever more depraved acts of worship. It falls to the merciless Space Marines of the Iron Hands Chapter to cleanse these worlds of the warp’s unholy taint, and it is upon the surface of Shardenus that the fate of a billion lost souls will be decided.
Customer Reviews
Slow start but gripping thereafter
It was a slow start as the reader is flung into the action straightaway and it takes a while to work out who everyone is and who they are fighting for. Once I had a handle on who the main characters were, the story made much more sense and I was able to enjoy it.
There’s not much to the story, like most Warhammer novels you quickly grasp the main themes and the likely outcome. It is well written though with lots of additional details to flesh the characters out, and the fate of the characters keeps you gripped to the end.
***Spoilers***
I liked how Chaos was subtly manipulating everyone throughout, only afterwards did those characters realise that they’ve been exploited. That for me is the true horror of Chaos.
Awesome!!!!!
