Publisher Description
During the summer of 1988, more than one-third of Yellowstone National Park’s area was burned by wildfires. On just one day, Saturday, August 20th (now called “Black Saturday”) 15 percent of the park’s acreage went up in smoke.
For Mrs. McNeil and her daughter Rosie, caught in the conflagration, the spreading of those fires was frightening and the outcome uncertain.
Although the characters in this story are fictional, the photos were actually taken between Thursday, August 18th and Sunday, August 21st of 1988 at Yellowstone National Park.
