Publisher Description
From the author of You Are A Badass, the New Your Times bestselling book everyone is talking about.
YOU ARE A BADASS AT MAKING MONEY is the book you need if you've spent too much time watching money land in your bank account and then roll through your fingers. Jen Sincero went from living in a converted garage to traveling the world in 5-star luxury in a matter of years, and knows all too well the layers of BS one can get wrapped up in around money, as well as what it takes to dig your way out.
In this funny, fascinating and practical book she goes in-depth on how powerful our thoughts are and how our bank accounts are mirrors for our beliefs about money. YOU ARE A BADASS AT MAKING MONEY combines laugh out loud comedy with life-changing concepts, all boiled down into manageable, bite-sized tips so that YOU can put them into practice and get life changing results.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Sincero, a success coach and motivational speaker, follows up the bestselling You Are a Badass with this peppy, if slightly flaky, envision-yourself-rich guide. Sincero, a freelance writer who was perpetually broke well into her 40s, describes working hard to change her attitude and get past her mental blocks about money and her own ability to attract it, earn it, and keep it. She guides readers through a similar process of cultivating a mindset conducive to garnering wealth. Her self-help approach asks readers to believe in the kindness of the universe (or a higher power), cultivate self-honesty, visualize success, meditate, and repeat affirmations. Backed up with success stories from those who've taken her advice, Sincero counsels readers that the secret to success is inside them and the universe is on their side. Her friendly, cheeky tone should appeal to existing fans and younger get-rich-quick seekers, though the visualization message feels a bit too dated to garner a whole new audience.
Customer Reviews
Fantastically fun but real
I LOVE this book. This is like the second book that I’ve managed to read all the way through without starting another book in between or getting bored. I just finished it and I’d read it again already. This is the only book that I’ve wanted to read at every waking moment or everyday. Jen has written this book fabulously and I hope I will one day get to meet her and tell her that! 25/10 would recommend.
Lack of concrete strategies
A whole lot of hot air, without many facts, data or concrete strategies.
The axiom of all the arguments this book makes are to rely on “Universal Intelligence” to give you what you’re looking for, by “raising your frequency” (probably kept intentionally vague to remove any accountability).
Sincero also stresses the crucial importance of finding and paying for expensive coaches/mentors, even if it means going a year’s worth of salary into debt to afford it. Did someone say conflict of interest?
Not what I was looking for.
Amazing read!
Amazing read! Love Jen’s books, super inspiring and most importantly...DOABLE!
