'The plot is ingenious, and the writing as clever and tantalising as ever' Daily Mail
From Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen, the authors of the top ten bestseller The Wife Between Us and An Anonymous Girl, comes You Are Not Alone – a gripping novel about a group of women who appear to have the perfect lives, but all is not what it seems . . .
You probably know someone like Shay Miller. She wants to find love, but it eludes her. She wants to be fulfilled, but her job is a dead end. She wants to belong, but her life is becoming increasingly isolated.
You probably don’t know anyone like the Moore sisters. They have an unbreakable circle of friends. They live a life of glamour and perfection. They always get what they desire.
Shay thinks she wants their life.
But what they really want is hers.
At the start of this entertaining yet shallow psychological thriller from bestsellers Hendricks and Pekkanen (The Wife Between Us), lonely temp Shay Miller watches in horror as a stranger, Amanda Evinger, commits suicide by throwing herself off a Manhattan subway platform in front of a moving train. The distraught Shay, who becomes fixated on Amanda, tracks down the young woman's address and shows up at her memorial service. Shay's presence attracts the attention of glamorous sisters Jane and Cassandra Moore, whose inner circle of women included Amanda. Jane and Cassandra worry that somehow Amanda confessed to Shay that the women are involved in a kind of vigilante justice in which they inflict revenge on people who may have wronged one of them. Though the story doesn't delve deep into the characters, the strong plot generates plenty of tension as the sisters befriend Shay and set about remaking her life all the better to spy on her. Though not up to the standard of the authors' previous books, this one's sure to please suspense fans.
You are not alone
Gripping story that pulls you straight in and doesn’t let go until the end.
The best book I’ve read in many years!
Couldn’t put down and read in one evening, the story was so original and cleverly put together and the feelings described in the book felt so real. A brilliant read!
