Publisher Description
Two years ago, Ava Garrison's cherished two-year-old son Noah disappeared.
There was no ransom demand; his body was never found. Ava, wracked with grief, has been in and out of mental institutions since that night.
Back on the family estate now, though, Ava is having strangely lifelike visions - visions of Noah on the dock of her island estate, or in his nursery. Visions that seem to be urging her to risk her own life . . .
Ava doesn't trust anyone now. Not her husband. Not her cousins. Not the servants her wealth is paying for.
They know more than they are saying. They appear to be anxious about her well-being. But the truth is more dangerous than Ava can imagine; and the price is higher than she ever thought to pay.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
This chilling stand-alone suspense thriller from bestseller Jackson (Without Mercy) brings every parent's biggest fear to life the disappearance of one's child. Nightmare-plagued Ava Garrison still can't remember the details of the night her two-year-old son, Noah, went missing from her Washington State island home two years ago, but her memory is starting to return now that she's stopped taking the medications she believes contribute to her nightmares. To add to her woes, Ava suspects her shifty husband, Wyatt, is cheating on her with her therapist. Even worse, Ava must prove her innocence after she becomes a prime suspect in a string of brutal murders. Fortunately, she can turn for help to rugged stable hand Austin Dern, who rescues her after she takes a plunge off the dock from which Noah may have fallen the night he disappeared. Multiple red herrings and a host of sinister characters help keep the pages turning until the explosive conclusion.
Customer Reviews
Brilliant
I've read nearly all Lisa Jackson's books, and I've stayed up till early hours many a night because I just want to keep reading. I love how her books are always done so exciting and there's always the love interest and always a happy ending and this book didn't disappoint. This book felt like there was characters that didn't need to be there and a bit pointless but I loved how Ava started in the book and I was hoping her and Dern would get together. I hope Lisa is writing more because once I've read them all I'm going to be gutted. All in all Brilliant my favourite Author.x
