Young Emma

A revealing memoir of love and social commentary in early 20th century London.
At the age of fifty, W. H. Davies, celebrated author of Autobiography of a Super-Tramp, sought a life partner. Rejecting London society, he searched the city streets, leading to unconventional relationships and poignant social observations.

Young Emma recounts Davies's affairs: with Bella, a Sergeant Major's wife; Louise, a gentle soul; and a society woman haunted by him. He meets Emma, pregnant, at a bus stop, beginning their unique love story. This moving memoir, told with honesty and humor, explores class, love, and finding connection in unexpected places. Perfect for readers seeking social commentary, historical insights, and unconventional love stories.
