Reacher is known to pay attention to the quiet, ordinary folk around him, so when he witnesses a chilling murder that's incorrectly recorded as a suicide, he plunges himself into a race against time, intent on unearthing the true culprits and bringing them to justice. With its crisp directness, the narration matches the Childs' signature writing style, heightening the tension and pulling readers deep into Colorado's crime scene.
