Abandoned Tongue

Abandoned Tongue is a flash fiction collection containing three stories; Where have you been?, Lesson Learned and Bad Influence.

Where have you been? Is about a young lady who is looking for attention to hopefully get through the bad history she's experienced in life. Instead of peers and staff coming to her defense, she is bashed for her behavior in school. In all reality, she thought crying for help by misbehaving would grant her attention she needed but everyone else saw a troubled child that needed tough disciplinary actions.

Lesson Learned is about a teenager who wants to spend some time with her mother for her birthday. She currently lives with her grandmother due her mother's lack of responsibility. The young lady is jealous of seeing all her friend's mothers play an active part in their lives, but her mother didn't want anything to do with her. She begged her grandmother to ask if her mom could take her out for her birthday. The dinner she hoped for turn out to be a regretful one.

Bad Influence is about a young woman named Alice who wants to be with her lover named Jane. The only thing that is stopping them is Alice's lack of commitment due to her religious born-again Christian family voices of judgment rings in her head. She feels like she has to pick between her lover and her family. After Alice breakdowns about how her family treats her, a shocking discover about Alice's past comes to play in her reasonings.
